PolyTechnos Venture-Partners is an independent European venture capital
firm based in Munich, Germany, with an office in Silicon Valley, U.S., with a track record of building world class companies.
History
PolyTechnos emerged from its prior focus on pure early-stage, capital intensive
and high technology risk investment strategy and team. With its new fund,
PolyTechnos has adapted its investment strategy to the existing opportunities in
Europe in later-stage, and the experience made in traditional early-stage VC
investing. PolyTechnos will execute a highly selective investment strategy. The
fund will seek to invest in special situations where PolyTechnos has identified
a unique opportunity which can create significant value in an average holding
period of less than three years. Such situations mostly comprise later-stage
investments, however might include some early-stage investments.
Under its previous strategy, PolyTechnos successfully raised and invested two
funds with total assets of approximately EUR 200 million. In 1999, PolyTechnos closed its first fund, Enabling Technology Limited
Partnership and in 2002, PolyTechnos closed its second fund, PolyTechnos Venture
Fund II. Under a hybrid concept, both funds invested in Technology and Life
Sciences companies.
Mission
PolyTechnos' objective is to generate top quartile VC returns by being highly
selective in identifying globally winning companies from its significant, often
proprietary deal flow. As a lead investor, PolyTechnos intends to hold
significant positions in its portfolio companies. PolyTechnos seeks to actively
support exceptional
founders and entrepreneurial teams, and scale them with U.S.-style marketing to
global markets and exits.
