Dirk Kanngiesser is a founder and spokesperson of PolyTechnos. He has 17 years
of venture capital experience, mostly in partner roles. He was previously a
partner of Baring Private Equity Partners. Prior to that, he worked at Procter &
Gamble and Siemens, where he was active in brand management, product
development, and project engineering. He has studied and worked in the U.S. and
Europe. Dirk is a board member of a number of European technology companies
including PolyTechnos' advised funds' portfolio company Varioptic, and has served on venture capital firm boards such as
Capricorn Venture Partners and the EuroMerchant Balkan Fund. He also
serves as a member of the EVCA High Tech Committee.
Dirk received his degree in
electrical engineering from the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany, and
his MBA from the University of Michigan. He served at the German Airforce
Headquarters and holds a U.S. commercial pilot license.
